This last Sunday, August 25, we held our first worship service at our new building! The morning was filled with many smiling faces and mouths open in awe of how well everything came together in just a matter of a few weeks. The building finally looks like somewhere an active church would call home. Sunday was the first day that everyone got to see how everything came together from paint to carpet to decorations to the layout of everything. Needless to say, everyone was pleased and excited to see how well everything looked. Not to mention the service itself was something special. The band sounded great and there was a new light about them, almost as if they looked right at home up on their new stage. Cindy was the lay leader who gave the message and boy was she happy to finally have a podium!
Even though all the new “stuff” and “items” caught our attention and made the place look complete, our focus was all on God. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what color the walls are, which classroom belongs to what group, or even how many chairs you put in a row. What matters is that you praise God and have a relationship with Him. And He has blessed us with this building which allows us to spread his word more effectively. We are so very thankful for all the blessings He’s given us. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us down the road!
